Preparing for a successful AS/EN9100 assessment audit is a big enough challenge in its own right. Maintaining and updating the resulting AQMS (Aerospace Quality Management System) can also prove to be an even bigger chore without external help.
As we have seen, the global aerospace/defence AS/EN 9000 series of standards themselves have just been upgraded and re-issued – AS/EN9100:2009 Rev C (AS/EN9110:2009 and AS/EN9120:2009).
Also the manner in which Certification Bodies assess and audit their clients is changing. The all new AS/EN9101:2010 standard for Certification Bodies mandates a process-based approach and demands conformity to all requirements, process-level effectiveness and the meeting of customer expectations for excellence in product quality and delivery performance – with continuous improvement!
