Precision Micro offers a unique range of manufacturing technologies including Photo Etching, Laser Direct Imaging, Wire EDM, Electroforming, Forming, Finishing and Micro Machining, used individually or in combination, for the manufacture of precision flat profile and three dimensional components for aerospace and other ‘high tech’ engineering applications. They are now the largest independent manufacturing operation of its kind in Europe.
“We have been a supplier to the aerospace industry for many years and already hold a raft of customer approvals” said Anthony Marrett, Managing Director. He continued “We saw the need to upgrade our already stringent quality management system to encompass all aerospace and defence customer requirements and to lock-in our advancements in lean manufacturing”. Selecting the new revision of AS/EN9100 was the logical choice because it embraced both aviation and defence and is recognised by the global Primes and Tier-1 organizations.
The company approached MAS-WM for guidance and were introduced to TEC who are an SC21 Strategic Partner and acknowledged specialists in AS/EN9100 implementation and training.
The decision was made to completely re-structure the quality management system from scratch and to adopt the modern, visual process approach and to actively involve their entire operational team at all stages. Anthony Marrett (MD) said “I was particularly proud that our extremely talented team was able to implement the system and achieve 100% first time compliance in a matter of months” said Anthony Marrett, “We have always sought to achieve the highest standards of quality and AS/EN9100 certification demonstrates this commitment throughout our entire organisation.” TEC provided the necessary guidance and approved specialist training to guarantee that the project was delivered on time using their tried-and-tested AS/EN9100 Implementation Programme.
Precision Micro is one of a small number of precision etching companies in the world to achieve AS/EN9100 certification and underlines their mission to enhance customer satisfaction by applying rigorous quality systems and lean manufacturing methods in an environment that promotes continual improvement.
Precision Micro is committed to SC21 and is now undertaking the in-depth ‘diagnostics’ as part of their SC21 Stakeholder Commitment Programme that may also include Nadcap accreditation for their special processes. Again TEC will be providing the technical expertise, training and guidance.
