TEC's 10- to 20-day tried-and-tested SC21 Deployment Programme is scheduled over a 6- to 12-month period and provides a comprehensive package to guide organizations through to an SC21 Recognition Award. It is a crucial part of SC21 implementation and follows on from the SC21 ‘diagnostics’ and formulation of an organization’s first ‘CSIP’. The programme is designed to impact on the key prioritized areas identified in the CSIP and always addresses the strategic deployment of lean enterprise approaches and tools with special attention being given to the 7QCD metrics. In fact we always recommend that benchmarking be undertaken to confirm that the goals and targets being set for key customer-orientated measures are compatible with best-in-class performance levels.
The implementation of AS/EN9100:2009 (Rev C) is frequently included making full use of modern process-orientated and visual management techniques. The resulting AQMS not provides a value-adding integrated management system but also locks in all of the new methods derived from the SC21 deployment programme – consolidating ‘best practice’ into ‘custom-and-practice’
A strategic plan for lean deployment is developed to deliver exactly what is required, in the correct sequence, and involving all levels within the organization – using the RADAR approach. The objective is ‘skills transfer’ to the organization’s management team and designated shop-floor lean champions (usually Supervisors) over 12- to 16-weeks utilizing practical instruction, coaching and project management.
More complex ‘break-through’ projects use the DMAIC process and the concurrent training and qualification of Six Sigma Green/Black Belts. On-site mentoring and coaching takes place to ensure support for the individuals and the measureable (£) success of every improvement project.
To conculde the programme the bottom-line benefits are assessed and the SC21 Manufacturing Excellence Diagnostics & Management Commitment is re-scored.
The financial benefits (£) of deployment are always measured and confirmed (with special reference to the Lean 7QCD metircs) – along with verified improvements in OTIF and RFT performance and their relationship to customer satisfaction.
